Canon Pixma MX490 powers on and goes through initialization, then powers back off. Keeps repeating the process as long as it's plugged in. Buttons are non-responsive.

I started the printer without internet access and it started up just fine.

How are you getting to not try and connect if the buttons are unresponsive?

I unplugged my fiber connection to my modem/router.

Thank you for this. It worked!

I can confirm this worked. Powered off my router and allowed the printer to cycle again and it came up to the normal menu. Turned the router back on and used the printer menu to reconnect.
No idea if it will continue to work if it gets turned back off again.

Well, it was working for about 10 minutes, then started power cycling on its own again. It must be something Cannon is trying to push to it over the network.

Thank you so much for this post. I too, can confirm this works.
I have a Canon MX492. Here are the steps I used. I can now print wirelessly from anything...laptops, phones, etc. All the features, copy, scan, print work fine.
1. Unplugged the power from the back of the printer.
2. Unplugged my router.
3. Plugged the power back into the printer and let it cycle. The menu came up just fine.
4. Plugged in the router. I didn't have to do anything with the settings. Everything just started working as it reconnected to the network.
Hopefully, it iwll continue working.

That also worked for me... as long as it stayed of the internet.
