I switched from an Intel mac to an apple silicon mac mini. The printer/scanner worked fine with my old computer.
Setting up printing was straightforward. However, scanning doesn't work.
I installed the IJ Scan Utility2 but when I run it I get:
A scanner driver supporting this software is not installed. Install it and try again
Code: 15,230,0

Canon doesn't list a driver for Sequoia for that printer. The most recent driver is for macOS 14.
You could download that driver and see if it works.
You could call Canon support at 1-800-OK-CANON to see if there are plans for an updated driver for the device for Sequoia; it could have reached end of support life.
If no driver will be available VueScan by Hamrick Software (a paid product) will have a driver.

Thanks for the suggestion. I installed the driver for MacOS 14 but it still gives the same error. I will call the support line.

Did you get any feedback from the support line? I have exactly the same problem.

After getting a runaround from the automated phone system it made me create an account which indicated that I have to pay $20/hour to speak to technical support. I gave up.
