PIMXA TR8620 can print but can't scan

I recently purchased a Canon TR8620. I am able to print from my Mac but the scanning capability is not working. Is there special software required? 

MG 2220 new cartridge not recognized

I have an MG2220 giving me the error E15 with an old cartridge. I just purchased a new 241XL cartidge and after installing it, it keeps giving me the same error. I use Windows 10.
