MG2440 not turning on

I bought my MG2440 printer yesterday. I haven't even been able to do a test print because it will not stay turned on. it keeps turning on and off for no reason. please help.

Using AirPrint to print emails to the PIXMA MX922 results in a very large font size and a blank page at the end of it.How can I adjust the font size to be a more normal size? And eliminate the extra end page?
