Black 1/2 inch vertical lines

JCeithaml

Hello, My issue is when making copies on my PIXMA MX922 it has started making about a 1/2 inch wide black line down the right side of the copy. Regardless of using the feeder or placed manually on the glass.
Any help would be appreciated. ( the fact that it also detaches itself from my network after being idle about five minutes is another issue for a different post)
Thank You

Hi JCeithaml,

Cleaning both areas of the printer glass may resolve the issue you are experiencing with the printer. To do this, please open the printer cover to get to the platen glass.  With a moistened swab (you can moisten the swab with water or glass cleaner), please clean the small strip of the glass that is off to the left hand side, separated from the main scan area of the glass. Once the small strip of glass has been cleaned, please also clean the main platen glass area of the printer with a moistened, lint free cloth.

Once the glass is dry, please attempt to make a copy again. If you still experience the same issue, please call or email us using one of the methods on the Contact Us page for further assistance.

All glass is clean, did nothing to resolve my issue. It is a perfectly printed 1/2 wide black strip down the right side of the page

Did you ever get your issue resolved?  I'm having the exact same problem and not sure what to do!

Thanks!!!

Hi tfeichtel,

It is recommended that you contact live technical support . There is NO charge for this call. Real time feedback of a live technical support call would be very beneficial in this case.

Please dial 1-866-261-9362, Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. ET (excluding holidays). A Canon technical support representative will be able to resolve this issue faster.

The only way I was able to resolve the issue was by purchasing a new printer. Canon was no help unfortunately. If you will notice the 1/2 inch dark ine is actually an extremely dark reprint of the middle of the page you are trying to copy.

Good luck in your endeavours

Thanks for the info - it is much appreciated. I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy new printer because the one I have is barely 2 years old but if it's anything more than a setting or firmware it's not worth fixing.
