photos printing with black smudges (Pixma MG 7120)

This is a problem I have not had before after printing 100's of photos.  In using the top tray of the printer,  4x6 photos  on Canon photo paper are showing black spots, lines & smudges on the left & right sides (mostly on the tops).  I did the cleaning process a few times with no results.  I can print the photos on 8x10 photo paper ok & also on plain paper in the bottom tray.  If I put a piece of bond paper cut to 4X6 thru the printer (in the top tray) it comes out fine.  Anyone know what's going on?  Thanks in advance.

Hi teresita,

Please enable the paper abrasion setting on your PIXMA MG7120.  To do this, please follow these steps:

1.  Turn your PIXMA MG7120 on.

2.  Swipe the screen from left to right and tap Setup.

3.  Tap Device settings.

4.  Tap Print settings.

5.  Tap Prevent paper abrasion.

6.  Tap ON.

7.  Press the Home button.

Attempt to print.
