PIXMA G3290 unable to see ink levels. Is there protective film over the tank windows?

I just purchased and set up a Canon Megatank Prisma G3290 printer. Only problem is I can't see the ink levels. Does anyone know if there is a protective film over the tank windows or are they just dark?

PIXMA G3290 Unable to see ink level

Although it appears I should be able to view the ink level on the front of my printer, they are all black.  If this is caused by a protective covering, what is the best way to remove without damaging the printer?

G7020 black color looks like brown

My G7020 prints the black color with tones of brown when I print in color. However, if I print in grayscale, the black color looks black. All other colors look fine.
