PIXMA TS5020 Streaks and missing lines in black print

Hi all. 5 year old printer sudden fly just cant print black and white. Lines are either very faint or inexistant or very streaky. Photos attached of a contract where you can see many lines missing. Also printed the check pattern.  I Changed the ink and they’re all full. Did all the maintenance the printer offers (roller cleaning etc) to no avail. Any advice before I trash it and go with another brand?

Hi Db11,

Please follow the steps on this page to perform 2 or 3 deep cleanings:

TS5000 series > Maintenance > If Printing Is Faint or Uneven > Deep Print Head Cleaning

Once complete, please print another nozzle check:

TS5000 series > Maintenance > If Printing Is Faint or Uneven > Printing the Nozzle Check Pattern

Compare your printout with the example provided on this page:

TS5000 series > Maintenance > If Printing Is Faint or Uneven > Examining the Nozzle Check Pattern

If PGBK still does not print at the top, your PIXMA TS5020 would require service.  You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.
