Pixma MG 2920 feeding multiple pages when printing two sided

I've recently started having a problem with my printer when I print two sided.  The first sides print fine, but when I load the pages back into the feeder, it will pull multiple sheets through at once, completely messing up the double sided printing....

MX472 is on, but when I try to print it tells me the printer isn't on

How can I scan multiple pages into a single document?

What can be done, the power button comes on only and off. The only thing left on is the alarm lamp, the electric symbol. that is it, does this mean its shot and needs to be taken back ?
