pixma ip8720 - 4x6 photo orientation wrong

TLoeb01

I am trying to print photos on 4x6 glossy photo paper (pre-cut 4x6 media). I have the paper inserted in the printer in landscape (I have tried turning it to portrait as well)...with everything set, to the best of my knowledge, to print landscape on 4x6 etc, etc. But I have wasted a good bit of paper and so far it prints portrait and cuts off the image every time. Below are my settings. I have checked preview before printing and the preview shows the image filling the page, though the preview shows the paper oriented portrait. Screenshot 2024-11-20 095855.pngI have tried printing through Photoshop, Lightroom, and just the computers photo gallery. No luck. Suggestions?Screenshot 2024-11-20 094634.pngScreenshot 2024-11-20 094505.pngScreenshot 2024-11-20 094410.pngIMG_0279.jpg

I think you beed to select the landscape (right) orientation button in Ps. That’s what you had selected in the first post.
In the photo app you would select how the image should look on the paper. In the printer driver you select how the paper is oriented in the printer.

Welcome.

paper should be oriented in portrait mode in printer and the printer driver should be set to Portrait.

I see that the printer is WS version. That is a default simple Windows printer driver.

Download and install the Canon IJ Series printer driver.

Thanks for the input. Especially pointing out the WS version. I had selected the wrong driver and have corrected that. I switched to portrait and now I get the entire image however it is printed in landscape in miniature (see pic). Any other ideas?

HA!! Got it. Your point was well taken! I reoriented in PS to landscape (as the image was setup originally for editing). When I did that it automatically turned it (to landscape) in the Printer Setup, but I still fed the paper into the printer in portrait orientation. It printed perfectly. Not fully sure why, but I'll take it!

Thanks for thinking through it with me!
