ImagePrograf Pro-4600 prints in wrong orientation

mwillems

Hi! I am using a new Pro-4600. OS is latest MacOS and I am printing from Lightroom.

The issue is that when I print an 18x24" print on a 24" wide paper roll, it always prints is upright (portrait orientation) - meaning I waste paper.

What am I doing wrong? I have of course checked and tried many options in page setup, print settings, and printer settings, all to no avail.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction!

Hi mwillems,

Make sure you are using driver version 29.1.0.0 for your imagePROGRAF PRO-4600. If you are using the Canon driver, you should be able to select the "Rotate Page 90 degrees" check box on the Page Processing tab from Printer Options in the Print Dialog window. I hope this is helpful.

I will try that today!

Alas, that also did not work.

Printing from Lightroom would be so good for our workflow, but it seems to be black magic. I select horizontal; the printer prints vertical. I select vertical, the printer prints vertical but cuts the print. That sort of thing.

Has anyone figured out exactly how to print from Lightroom? There are so many settings, and I understand them all, but still I get random results... page setup, rotate to fit, zoom top fit, margins, cell height and width, portrait/landscape... and somewhere in there it's doing stuff I do not understand. And we do print from Lightroom to other printers without issue.

I could use the Canon tool but that adds an entire step to our workflow.

Any further ideas welcome!
