PIXMA TS6420a: How to change paper settings

jonniebean

I recently purchased a TS6420a (rear paper tray type).  I was able to print on standard copy paper.  I changed the settings for card stock to create a greeting card.  I now want to change back to letter size paper. I can't seem to find the preference page I used to change the type of paper.  I have tried changing the settings directly on the printer and from the computer settings page.  Nothing has worked.  What am I missing?  When I prepare to print the preferences window does not contain the paper settings page as it did when I originally changed the type of paper.

I appreciate your help!

It seems the issue might be with how the settings are being accessed or applied. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you reset the paper type to standard letter size for your Canon TS6420a printer:

1. Reset the Paper Settings on the Printer
Access the Settings Menu:
On the printer's touchscreen, go to Settings or Setup.
Paper Settings:
Navigate to Paper Settings (this may be under Maintenance, Device Settings, or directly accessible).
Set the Paper Size to Letter and the Paper Type to Plain Paper.
Confirm Settings:
Confirm the changes and ensure the rear tray is loaded with standard letter paper.
2. Adjust Settings on Your Computer
For Windows:
Printer Properties:
Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right-click your Canon TS6420a printer and select Printing Preferences.
Check Paper Settings:
In the Preferences dialog, look for a Paper/Quality tab.
Set the Media Type to Plain Paper and Paper Size to Letter.
Save Changes:
Apply and save these settings.
For macOS:
Best Regards
