My Canon MG5350 stopped working after a paper jam. A belt marked standard encoder ORV 099 came off

Evidently the belt drives or postions the print head carriage. I can't see how to get it back on the printer and get it working. As far as I can tell nothing is broken. Can anybody give advice to enable a repair?

Figured this one out - it's because the next-to-worthless set-up instructions have you set the paper tray to A4 paper!!! Then don't mention that for the vast majority of printing it should be set at "letter."
