Is there any known trick to turn the camera ON remotely (Vixia HG20)

I would like to turn my HG20 ON and OFF without having to reach to the power button, unfortunately the remote doesn't do that and neither plugging the power cord turns the camera ON automatically. Does anyone know of any trick to make this happen?
