Canoscan LiDE 300 will only scan to pdf, and I need it to scan to jpg

I have a Canoscan LidE 300 that was purchased 2 weeks ago, and up until yesterday, I was able to scan to jpg (using the 'Auto Scan' button). But now it will only scan to pdf :-(. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, but the issue is not fix...
