I am trying to connect my MacBook Air with an M2 chip on Sonoma 14.4 to a CanoScan Lide 400. I have an adaptor to convert the USB 2 to 3 for my port. The canoscan utility cannot find the scanner, so I added the scanner to my mac utility as described in other posts. Using the mac utility, my scanner is found and added, but it will not preview.
Any help appreciated.

I also tried the VueScan trial software, and it is also unable to preview (or scan), although it too detects the scanner.
