I have had this printer for 2 years and it suddenly won't scan. It prints fine. When I try to scan something, it will show the preview and when I hit scan, it always says, "Something went wrong. Please try again." What can I do to get it to scan again?

Greetings star26,
Maybe its a driver issue?
How is the printer connected and to what?
What is the version and build of th he OS you are using the printer with?
For reference, here is a link to the support portal for your product.

It's connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I'll check that web address you gave me. Thanks!

Okay, I went to that web address and I've been there before. Sort of lost there. Please advise, thanks, Rick!

Greetings,
Specifically, what connection method to your W11 desktop are you using? USB, wireless, etc? 🙂

Thank you.
Here are the steps I suggest you perform.
Disconnect the printer's USB cable from your system.
Open the Printers applet under Settings. Remove all instances of the printer.
Now open Programs and Features applet. Uninstall all Canon drivers and utilities.
Important: Restart your computer.
Now run this file:
Print Driver
https://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDEwMDAwNjY5MDAy&cmp=ABR&lang=EN
Do not connect the USB cable to your printer until prompted to do so by the installer. It will prompt you.
Once complete, run this utility:
Scanner Driver
https://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDEwMDAwNjY5MjA0&cmp=ABR&lang=EN
Restart the system again. Test printing and scanning.
Optional. The standard printer driver supports 8 bit color depth. If you want 16bit color depth support, you may install this driver last
https://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDEwMDAwNjY5MzAz&cmp=ABR&lang=EN
(Optional) This is an advanced printer driver. XPS printer drivers supports 16-bits per color (bpc) printing, which enables more smooth gradation printing than the current drivers (8-bpc printing).
Hope this helps.
