first time replacing ink cartridges in iPF670E. Original Canon product replacements. Machine will not recognize. Tried replacing, reinserting - nothing. Any Suggestions?

Toner Cartridges leaking?
When I open the front panel on our Canon ImageRUNNER Advance there is toner dust all around the front of each opening. Would this explain why the copies or print outs look dirty and sometimes have bands of color across the bottom of the page?
