My Mp 830 is showing an error 6500 and I don't know what it it

Can anyone help me resolve an error 6500 on a Cannon MP 830?

My Canon MX922 scanner stopped working. I have OS X El Capitan.

The scanner has worked well in the past but it just stopped. The printer does work. The printer is hardwired to my computer. Please walk me through the steps I need to take to have the scanner work again. Thanks so much!
