I have a canon MX522. I can print from the internet on the desktop but cannot print from word.

I have a canon MX522.  I can print from the internet on the destop but not print from word.  However, I can print from both the internet and word from the laptop.  On desktop I receive"active directory domain service is currently unavailable."

just bought canon pixma mx456. i am able to print with my mac but when my partner is trying to print with her pc she gets "printer not responding" running windows 7 32 bit
