SX50 file number resets to 001 with new card or formatting even though set to continuous numbering

I have an SX 50.  File numbering is set to continuous but each time I put in a new card or reformat a card in the camera, the numbers revert to 001.  How  do I get the file numbers to be continuous?  

my Powershot A590 will not flash no matter what flash setting I use

I had been using the AUTO setting for flash and was very happy with the results.  All of a suddon--the flash will not work with any setting.  Any thoughts, should I take it to a camera shop, sent it to Canon, or what?

sx50hs 12 mp photos don't come out in 12 mp

I have a sx50hs 12mp camera. When I send photos to shutterstock thet tell me they need at least 4 mp. How do I get my camera to shoot at least 4mp or greater. I shoot all my photos in raw format(if that help you)
