Why can I not scan a picture to my computer when I am out of ink in one of my cartridges? I do not want to print only scan to my computer and the error message wont allow me to scan.

I have a canon pixma tr4522 printer. it is showing an error code of 7700. I am trying to replace the ink cartridge but it won't slide over to get it out.

The pixma mg2500 I bought isn't staying connected during step 3 during setup process. I've tried the disk, driver versions and compatibility making sure to delete any old files, reset the pc and have tried the other fixes people have had work.
TR8520 shows Error 1300 (Paper Jam). But there is NO paper jam so the printer is unusable. Haven't found any way to reset/restore to factory settings as long as this error is displayed. Any ideas?
