Error on MG8220

My mg8220 printer displays an error 5c00 and won't print. Tried rebooting with the power off - keeps comig back to same error

MX922 - "no paper"

Figured this one out - it's because the next-to-worthless set-up instructions have you set the paper tray to A4 paper!!! Then don't mention that for the vast majority of printing it should be set at "letter."
