Canon Pixma MX490 powers on and goes through initialization, then powers back off. Keeps repeating the process as long as it's plugged in. Buttons are non-responsive.

My Canon started to do the same thing. All that the screen on the printers display will show is the Canon logo. I can't figure how to factory reset the printer

I have the same issue. My printer is a MX492. Cannon maybe pushed some kind of update. Now I'm headed to the store for a new printer.

I am having this issue too! Happened out of nowhere! Did they force an update that screwed it up? Looks like everyone's issue just came up at the same time!

Mine was doing same thing after storm last nite. After searching online I did the following: unplugged printer from power strip, disconnected printer at my modem/wifi router box, pushed power button on printer 10x (according to Canon), plugged printer back in, reconnected printer to modem/router. Now it's working. I think the important things were disconnecting power & internet. Hope something from this helps you.

Exactly the same for me. I cannot get into the menu. Does anyone know how to do a factory reset without the menu?

Having the same issue. I just used my printer last night without any problems. Turned it on this morning & it keeps cycling on & off. Help! I need my printer for my small business!

Same issue here. The printer hadn't been used for a few days but started endlessly power cycling when trying to use it today. Have had no luck getting anything to display other than the cannon logo or an error code from pulling the ink cartridges.

Experiencing the same issue here. Printer was successfully working yesterday afternoon; today is stuck in endless power cycle.
