@manishisha: Thanks for the info. Actually I forgot to specify that I'm using an MP560 although most people here are commenting on their MP860. I assume that you're using an MP860? (The MP560 has the same issues with this error message, and most suggestions for the MP560 are the same as for MP860).
Anyway, I'll look at who the seller is for the item you ordered and see if they've got something for the MP560. At least I'd be starting out with a seller that gave you the right thing, thus increasing my chance of receiving the right thing (hopefully). 🙂

thank you
I have tired everything including dealing with tech support at Canon. What a trip that was. Not only could not understand half of what he was saying, but my wife could not either. That's bad new there. Tech would not listen but wanted remote assist. to our computer and then tired to sell us $99,00 worth of repairs on line to a friend or himself who knows.
I tired about 6 of the above and gave up until I came across you bog. Had to try it twice BUT WORKED GRREAT. THANKS AGAIN!
This is my 2d canon 860 and love them both, was looking today for another one but could not find one. I brought this in 2006 and 1st time any trouble but running out of ink and paper.
Thanks again you just save me some $$

rickajr: THIS IS TRULY AMAZING! It worked for me! How on Earth did you discover this way of fixing the problem??? Your contribution:
This is the craziest of all errors and I've been in the computer industry for more than 20 years. I tried the canon solution and the push to the left - neither worked. I found another online by Tom's Hardware.
Website: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1963504/workaround-b200-error-canon-printers.html
Here's the info:
This is truly unbelievable but it did work for me:
I have become fed up with the number of 'broken' Canon multifunction printers that I have come across that show the 'B200' error on the screen. I have communicated with Canon UK, Canon Europe and certain Canon engineers, all of whom can offer no credible reason for the error nor a definitive solution other than "...its possibly the power supply, buy a new one..." or "...its possibly the carriage, buy a new one..."
I have established a workaround that has put trouble free life back into many supposedly 'broken' printers.
1. Turn OFF Power
2. Open the print head bay (as though you were about to change inks)
3. Turn ON power
4. Wait for print carriage to start moving to the left and let it go past half way
5. Before print carriage reaches left hand side (but after going halfway across) shut the cover.
6. Leave the Printer turned on
7. Good to go.
(Very occasionally I have had to do this twice in a row to get past the error)

Operation was a success but the patient died!!!
Followed the power off - move to left - power on/off etc instructions several times. Finally Success, the normal display screen came on and I was ready to go.
Went to copy a document. Document fed in properly, machine made normal noises and mothins and then, the power totally died. Nothing! Nada! Rien! Kaput!
Power went off and screen (obviously) went blank. Print head unit is all the way to the right and lodged in place; I can't pull it out. Tried disconnecting power cord (from both ends) and tried re-starting but no power to the machine.
I may have to take it in somewhere, or start looking for another Forum thread.
Like I said,: Operation was a success but the patient died!!!

Rickajr you are a GOD. Yours was the only solution to the B200 problem with my MX870. Tried all the ones listed above. Watched Vids on UTube to fix -clean and replace print head. Thank you.
Sincerely
Greg

OMG! just used rickajr's hint below and it worked! Don't know why, but it did... my canon got the B200 error after I was trying to print 2 sided items; guess I won't do that again.
Anyway, so far so good, and THANK YOU!
