how to download pics to an IMac that does not have a cd rom?

Anybody know how to download oics to an IMac that does not have a cd rom?

ISSUES WITH canon lide120

I am having an issue with my scanner . i am trying to scan in adobe format and all i am getting is black when i look at the adobe doc. can anyone tell me what could be happening. was not having this issue up to 2 weeks ago. Just recently
