EOS Rebel T6i Lost Lip Sync during webcam use on EOS Webcam Utility

After using the EOS Webcam since beta and now paying for pro, the Rebel T6i I has used all along no longer synchronizes lip movement to the spoken word. Let's check the boxes:

- Sent it for complete factor service - checked top to bottom

- Firmware updated by factory

- Lens all work in DSLR mode and record perfect video

- All other webcams work with Zoom, Teams, and most especially StreamYard (where I have many hours of use with the R T6i)

- Check all quality settings and went through test all for camera and video output.

I am doing nothing different. It started before paying for Pro (hence the upgrade) and has left me very, very disappointed. I was the envy of my colleagues and then one day...not.

Does anyone have an answer?

Greetings agetler,

I am sorry to hear that there is a sync issue between video and audio when using the EOS Rebel T6i camera and the EOS Webcam Utility. Check to see if using a different microphone may help take care of the issue in case you are using an external microphone and not the microphone on the webcam when testing out the webcam with your streaming or video conferencing software.

In case the sync issue is due to the camera lagging behind the audio input from the microphone that is connected to your computer, then let's check the connections. You may test a different USB port on the computer, a different USB cable, and if using a USB hub, then disconnect all other devices from the hub to where the camera is the only device connected to it or connect the camera's USB cable directly to a USB port on the computer.

You may also test to see if the same issue occurs when using the camera and software on a different computer. This would help to determine if there may be something on your primary computer that is causing this sync issue.

Thanks. I will swap connections as I honestly don't recall if I have been thorough in that regard. I have also ordered a new connection from the camera to to USB. My reading tells me that the camera's mini HDMI connection does not provide streaming capability. Can you confirm?

I will report back. Thank you.

I have been using my EOS Rebel T6i since the EOS-Webcam Utility was introduced with amazing results. For six months now I have been fights a voice to lip sync issue including sending my camera to Canon, buying new cords, updating firmware, etc. No solutions. It it is very frustrating. I went from being the envy to all my business partners and viewers to a joke as I have to go back to webcams. On top of that, I am now paying a subscription for a PRO utility that is useless. Who has answers.

Hello agetler,

I would ask to make sure that you are plugging the camera directly into a USB port on the computer and not a hub or something of that nature. You can also try utilizing a different USB port on the computer. You may want to also check for updates to the software. I have included a link HERE to describe some of the most recent fixes being applied to using the software.
