24-105 f/4L focusing problem

I have a 24-105mm f/4L series I that is front focusing badly, but only at the wide angle end. Above about 50mm, focus seems accurate but at 24mm, what should be infinity instead gives me in the 3-5 meter range. It slowly gets better as I zoom out.I’v...

70-200mm f2,8 no AF with 5D mark iii

Recently purchased 5D iii my 70-200mm will not AF.  I've used the lens on Rebel T3i with no issues.  I have checked the settings on the lens and have tried both distances (i.e. 1.2  and 2.5). Since the lens works perfectly with the T3i right now it d...

Old lens usable on new camera?

Hello-I have an old film SLR camera (Canon EOS Elan 7E) with a handful of Canon EF lenses - got when my now college age child was born.  Rather than have the lenses collecting dust in my closet, I was considering getting a Canon DSLR body but I don't...

lens compatibility

Hi,My neighbor bought a Canon Rebel EOS T4i used camera. The only lens that came with the camera is a 500mm Ultimax.I've tried to take pictures with this lens and it won't focus. You can take a picture with it, but it's very blurry. No matter what I ...

Blurry images with 70-300 IS lens

Hi. New here. I've had a 70D for a couple of years now, and I will freely admit this is too much camera for me. It requires too much thinking and remembering on my end. That said, I can typically do fine with it. However, I've run into an issue that ...

Tamron 18 - 400mm f/3.5 - 6.3 for the Eos 30D?

Came across a review for the Tamron 18 - 400mm f/3.5 - 6.3. With a range that wide, it seems it could be an "all-the-time" lens, pretty much eliminating the need for multiple lenses. My primary focus  birds and wildlife, thus the desire for the large...

Eos 30D w/ 75-300mm vs Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS ?

The Eos 30D I purchased used came with an older 75-300mm lens. Reviews seem to rate the newer 70-300mm w/ IS as a much better lens. But how much better? Also, the 70-300 is full frame - would that work with my older 30D?

old vs new

There has been a lot of interest in using old film camera lenses on new DSLR or mirrorless cameras. Although this isn't a comparison of that it is an old vs new example. Neither is right or wrong just the way it is. I won't say which is which so the ...
