iP2702 is printing faded pictures

I need help with my Canon PIXIMA iP2702 InkJet, i have replaced the ink cartridges because they were low but i still cant print a decent picture. my printer hasn't been used in awhile but this seems more like a software issue.

Double sided printing on G3260

This is the first printer where I've had an issue setting automated double sided printing. I'm on Mac (Monterey) and the option is grayed out. How can I fix this? (If it's unfixable, that's a huge problem, we're back to the dark ages.)
