My dad gave me his old printer, but doesn't have the installation CD...can I get the installation driver online or am I SOL?

I am having streaks of no color or black ink on my printed page. Any guidelines how to get rid of this. I have installed brand new cartridges. Thanks.

Canon PIXMA MG6220- Issue Printing Consistently both wirelessly and hardwired

Is there a reason why my new Canon PIXMA MG6220 won't print consistently both wirelessly and hardwired? I did the installation using the disc supplied. OS is Windows 7 on both personal laptops.

Printer prints images but no text

 On newly installed iP4600 printer, it prints graphic images OK, but will not print text.  This is true for MS Word, Excel, Gmail, etc.  I used a printer driver downloaded from the Canon website.Thanks
