printer cuts off border

I am using a canon mg2540. When printing a word document it cuts of the bottom border when printing. If I print to an HP laser jet it's fine. When I use an HP lazier jet it is fine

My Canon Pixma 5350 is giving error code C000

Almost every time I try to print something this error comes up.   It advises to turn the printer off and on again but this only clears the error for one more print command.   I'm using genuine Canon cartridges.   Any ideas?   It's driving me nuts.
