PIXMA MG5300 all printing is pink

DOOLEY33

Just replaced the ink 2 weeks ago, in the middle of printing it went from black to pink and it's been pink every since. I do not refill the ink, only buy new. broke down and bought new black ink again, the color ink is showing full, black is still showing empty. Have cleaned everything through the cannon setup and it's still pink!  It's a Cannon MG5300 series. It's about 6 months old.

Something funny, when I registered for this forum, I received a confirmation email, which I printed, came out perfect!! So I tried to print something else, and it's PINK!!! Help!

Now I know the old adage is true:  "THERE'S NO FOOL LIKE AN OLD FOOL!"

i just checked my blue cartridge to reseat it,  "and what to my wondering eyes should appear" a strip of orange plastic that I had never removed when I installed a new blue cartridge. BTW, Iwill be 83 next week.

Got the same issues, everything is pink, the cyan isn't working and I ran all of the maintenance procedures, what can i do?

1. what printer

2. did you check for possible tape on the cartridge (if it was just installed)

3. did you check that cartridge is porperly seated?

4. remove power cord and let it sit for about 1/2 hour.

How do you get the cartridges to move to the center?

If it’s a Pixma Pro-100 just lift the main cover when printer is powered on.

It's a 4210 Mega Tank, I unplugged the printer and will try again.

Hi Donniecastleman,

If the printer is still not printing correctly, please contact our support group at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666), Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST.

We look forward to hearing from you.

I have a Canon TR8500 and all print jobs from an IOS or Mac OS device prints in pink or in pinkish hues. It's not the print heads or ink seating since jobs from a PC print correctly. All devices print wirelessly to the printer. Any ideas what the issue may be?

I have a Pixma G7020 Mega Tank and it's only printing pink.

A nozzle check the first time was normal, but the printing quickly went back to pink.

The next check revealed total failure of the blue. I then cleaned, twice. No Difference. I deep cleaned, to no avail.

I then deep cleaned, once. No difference. I  am going to leave it unplugged overnight, then deep clean again if needed in the morning. IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS, I AM ALL EARS!!

I would print in black only, but Adobe PDF's grayscale button is not working. It's still trying in most places to use color ink to combine into black. How can I force it to use only the pigment ink in Adobe acrobat?

Here's the weird part... it just started doing this in the middle of a large print job and had not given me previous grief, except I could never get vivid photos, they always seemed washed out, unlike previous Canon printers I have owned.

Hi Dooley33,

I had the same problem with my Canon PRO-100 printer (printing pink), I even purchased a new print head that only lasted for about a few days, then back to the same problem.
After re-installing the drivers and doing a Firmware update, the problem was the same.
After all of this it turned out the the Black and Grey ink cartridges were showing empty when printing, even though they were both 50% or more in them, replaced them both and all appears to be okay now.
I guess they were both defective.
Brian
