Windows 11 24H2, I could print just fine but scanner always had connection issue (pop up connection error message) when running Scangear.
Then, I uninstalled completely all drivers. The issue is when I tried to install the latest drivers MF741CMFDriverV6404WP.exe dated 02/05/25, it stopped after I hit "next" after I made selection regarding: Printer/scanner/fax to install. Regardless what I choose (and combination of those), it stopped the installation prematurely with the pop up message "Could not install MF Port Monitor. Please try again later".
That's it.... I could not proceed with anything. Printing is still ok with Windows driver... I ended up deleted it and installed Canon latest generic driver GPlus_UFRII_Driver_V312_W64_00.exe dated 1/29/25. Again, printing works fine, however, I cannot install the Scanner driver, so that I cannot install MF Scan Utility winmfscanutilityv12102.exe
The printer was connected via network... I tried wired and wireless, the same thing. Again, printer function is ok but scanner function is completely dead. Please advise. thx
