Getting laptop to recognize newer PIXMA MG2520 for scanning

I replaced my TS-3100 printer with a MG-2520 printer. I can print and copy items with no problem. My problem is that my laptop still recognizes the TS-3100 as the printer for scanning. How do I get it to recognize the MG-2520 printer for scanning?

Hi, Snuffy1969!

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which operating system is running on your computer (i.e. Windows or macOS, and which version thereof). That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!

Windows 10, Danny.

Hi,

When you added the MG2520, did you install the driver from the Canon website or select add printer on your computer?

Also, when you open IJ Scan Utility, click where is shows the TS3100 and in the dropdown does the MG2500 series appear?

We look forward to your reply.

When I open the IJ Scan utility, it only shows the TS3100, not the MG2500 series.

Can't remember if I installed from website or select add printer.

Hi,

Please click HERE and download/install the MG2522/MG2525 MP Drivers Ver.1.02. Once that is done, go back to IJ Scan Utility and check to see if it will let you select the MG2500 series printer.
