Bought a TS9521C from Amazon. Was sent a TS9521Ca instead. Vendor said to keep the Ca one and sent me the $ difference between the 2 in a refund. My proof of purchase is for the computer I did not receive with the invoice showing the original purchase price with the credited difference). Followed the prompts for setup on the printer when I received it, and didn't realize I hadn't registered it until today. Now I am concerned about it's warranty. Trying to register and I can't seem to upload the invoice even though I've tried all formats which are well under 5mb. So, I'm stuck with no human being to talk to about this really weird series of issues.
The reason I started all this is my white pages are scanning with gray backgrounds right out of the box! Whether I use the feed or the flatbed, same. None of my previous printers had this problem in 40 years. Trying to troubleshoot or find out if it is defective. I filled out a support box, hoping for a response, but saw this Canon Community and thought I'd try here as well. Thanks in advance if you have any suggestions for me. 🙂

After reading your post I realized that when I registered my two Canon printers earlier this summer I did not upload any receipts. I did just that now, both were uploaded as PDFs, printed from Amazon's site and about 32kb each. You may want to make yours as small as possible.
These are basic steps for troubleshooting scans of white documents that print gray.
If your PIXMA TS9521Ca is scanning and printing white paper as gray, there are a few common issues to consider:
Cleaning Required: Dust or smudges on the scanner glass can affect the quality of scans, leading to gray output.
Check Settings: Ensure that the print settings are configured correctly for the type of paper you are using. Using the wrong settings can result in poor print quality.
To resolve the issue, follow these steps:
Step 1: Turn off the printer and unplug it.
Step 2: Use a soft, lint-free cloth with a mild glass cleaner to gently clean the scanner glass.
Step 3: Allow the glass to dry completely before plugging the printer back in.
Step 1: Open the print dialog on your computer.
Step 2: Select the correct paper type and quality settings.
Step 3: Ensure that the color settings are set to "Color" rather than "Grayscale" or "Black and White."
Paper Quality: Ensure you are using the appropriate type of paper for your prints.
Printer Maintenance: Regular maintenance, such as cleaning the print heads, can also improve print quality.
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue of your PIXMA TS9521Ca printing white paper as gray.
