Does any of you tried to download EOS Utility for the last updated software in MAC? Still not available for me.
Solved! Go to Solution.

I’m using an M1 Mac Studio Max which is now running the latest update of Sequoia and connecting to a Canon EOS Rebel SL2 OR 200D in the rest of the world.
The key to my issue was that I needed to uninstall all previous versions of the Canon EOS Utility from my computer. That’s because one of them was running in the background and wouldn’t allow me to use the upgraded utility. Once I uninstalled the old versions I again downloaded the update and then restarted my computer. That turned out to be the sequence of events that was necessary for the upgrade to work correctly. Everything worked! I’m now up and running.
I have no idea what your issue is as long as the Canon camera you’re using is on in the list of supported Canon cameras but will add, make sure to follow my sequence and don’t deviate from it.

Hello justin5billion,
I can understand your concern. You can try uninstalling the software from your computer and changing the drop-down for the operating system version to macOS Monterey v12 on the software download page. I find a version 3.15.20 of the EOS Utility which lists the EOS 70D as a supported model. I'm not sure if it will install on that newer operating system unfortunately. On the download page (HERE) click [LOAD MORE] at the bottom of the list to find the version mentioned above.

John_Q I have the same problem as justin5billion and I have a 70D as well. Trying to revert to the Monterey version still has the same issue. I have to Force Quit the application from Activity Monitor so that it doesn't hog all my CPU.
I've also tried installing the link from here (https://canon.us/eu) but this ONLY contains EOS Utility 3 and it's not compatible with the 70D. In fact if you try and connect the 70D it says you need EOS Utility 2.... so basically there's nothing that will work right now.
This was working previous to Sequoia, on Sonoma, flawlessly so I think you have enough information here right now to be able to troubleshoot further.
Again, to summarise:
* Latest version of EOS Utility 3 (3.18.41), although working for macOS Sequoia, DOES NOT allow the Canon 70D to connect and prompts you to use EOS Utility 2
* The previous version of EOS Utility 3 (3.15.20) which was deemed to support the 70D but will not launch on macOS Sequoia (see screenshot of crash/fault in Activity Monitor when you try to launch it)
* Previous to the update to macOS Sequoia, EOS Utility 3 and Utility 2 were both working on macOS Sonoma

Greetings druhew,
Unfortunately, the EOS 70D camera is unable to use the EOS Utility 3 software application to download images, use remote shooting functions, or view settings. The EOS 70D was able to use EOS Utility 2 but this software application is no longer supported or offered by Canon USA. Workarounds or alternative steps to allow EOS Utility 3 to function with the EOS 70D camera is unavailable. I apologize for this inconvenience.
You may review the following link to view a list of cameras that are currently supported by the EOS Utility 3 software.

I have read and tried all the solutions mentioned here -- none work for myu 90D and MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15.0.1. So my camera is essentially useless for the work I do. Please let Canon know of very unhappy customers.

Hi, StephenNowlin.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. Could you please be more specific about how you're using your Canon camera, what Canon software you're trying to use, and what error message(s) you see?
You may find it easier to troubleshoot one-on-one with our phone support team. They're at 800-OK-CANON (800-652-2666), Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (ET).
