CANON PIXMA G3000 WIRELESS ISSUE

I CANT SEEM TO REGISTER MY PRINTER WIRELESSLY THROUGH THE APP EVEN THOUGH THE PRINTER HAS BEEN CONNECTED TO THE ROUTER.THE MESSAGE I KEEP GETTING IS : CANNOT COMMUNICATE WITH PRINTER.ALSO, THE PRINTER DOES NOT SHOW UP ON THE IJ NETWORK TOOL.

my canon MF227 will not stay connected to my imac computer. Both are on the same network.

I can get the printer to work by resetting them to a new network but after a few minutes of inactivity the computer says it is not connected to the printer.  I then have to switch them both on  and off the wireless network to resume printing
