I have a Canon MX882 printer and when I scan documents I can only scan them as PDF's.  Is it possible to scan the document and save as a "Word" document?

Pixma mx 870 is damaging the paper

I am using glossy transparent decal paper with the rear feeder and the printer is marring the paper. It is especially bad when I use high-quality print. Is there any adjustment possible or is this printer (less than one month old) defective?
