Greetings to everyone!
Pretty new in this community likewise new with mirrorless camera but pretty excited to learn. I just bought the Canon R6 Mark 2 with couple of accessories and lenses. I bought the Kondor Blue (KB) cage which fits perfectly just for added protection at this time. I know most of you here are familiar with KB how it attaches to the body of the camera (bottom & hotshoe). I now that it was setup, I am now wondering how I can attach my flash (Godox V1 pro) since the hotshoe of the camera was already used by the KB cage, although the KB cage itself has a coldshoe but how can I trigger the flash? All the while I know I can make an off camera flash but still it needs the trigger be attached to the camera hotshoe itself. Is there any other method I don't know without removing the cage or else the KB would be useless. Looking forward to any help for this setup. Thank you in advance!

Thanks again. I've been searching too on the web but I can't seem to find an answer. I wonder how the KB cage owners get around with it. I was carried by the nice reviews and satisfied professional photographers using this cage that's why I bought it. If there's no other way, I might as well return the KB cage and opt for a smallrig cage, which is popular too, which leaves the hotshoe open for the trigger device. I hope someone here can still provide me a solution before I return my KB cage. 😞
The good reviews may have came from pro photographers that use higher end cameras. Not that the R6 II can't hold its own (I own one and the R6), but it lacks features that the upper tier cameras like the R5 series, R3, R1, and the 1D DSLR series have. Most have a flash sink connection that, as far as I know, doesn't require a flash in the shoe. I don't use a flash but that is what I've read. I just know that the R6 series only have a RC port and not a sync port like my R5 series do. The R5's also have a 3 pin canon type connector on the front. I use that to connect my MIOPS trigger for capturing lightning.
I think you've discovered that the KP Blue cage will not work with the R6 II as it cripples the flash and accessory shoe. I think your best option is to carry out your plan to return the KB Blue. I have no suggestions and hope you find something that will fill your needs 🙂

For the EOS R6 Mark II, the only way to trigger a flash is with a device in the hotshoe. The Kondor Blue cage blocks any other device from fitting on the hotshoe, so it is not possible to use the cage and use flash.

Welcome.
Cages like that are not for protection, but to provide mounting capability for video accessories like microphones and lights.

Thank you for the reply.
That was part of my intention, to mount other gadgets like monitor, side handle, and the like including the flash itself. Not always will I be using a monitor when I do still photography, but I like to maintain the cage itself. Going back to the original question, how can I have a flash triggered when the hotshoe is already being used by the KB cage and no trigger device can be mounted on it? Is there a setting in the camera menu that can communicate remotely to the flash without having a device connected to the hotshoe? I hope I make sense, just a green apple here.
Thanks again!

I don't have that camera, but from reviewing the manual it looks like you need to have a flash or trigger installed on the hot shoe. I don’t see where the camera has a PC connection either.

Thanks a lot for your responses! In that case, as much as I like the KB cage which is more rigid than most camera cages, I will be shifting to smallrig cage. It is a good thing a friend of mine who is using an R5 has not bought a cage, hence I'll gift it to him.
Looking forward to dropping by this community for support now and then. I love the early responses it provides. 🙂
I hope everyone enjoyed their new year! Thanks again!
