I have a Canon EOS 400D and when I leave it for a few seconds, the screen goes blank and the memory access light will flash very quickly. What do I do about this?

What kind of memory card is this. Full Sized or a Micro SD Card in an adapter. Discontinue the use of adapted Micro SD Cards. Also what size (GB) of the SD Card. Your camera doesn’t work with (SDXC) SD Cards those cards are 64GBs or larger. Use a smaller SDHC or 32GB or smaller SD Cards those cards.

It's a CF Card

Have you tried a different CF Card to rule it out. Also what size is it.

I have no other CF cards. It's a normal sized CF card.

Did this card previously work in the camera. Older cameras typically don’t work with large CF cards. I use 4GB & 8GB CF Cards in the my old EOS 40D and never have problems. Bigger cards don’t work well because the camera wasn’t designed to be used with them.
