RF 16mm f2.8 lens looks cropped on EOS R

Title pm. i have the 16mm prime on the EOS R full frame, and it looks to be cropped when compared to my friend’s 16mm by quite a bit.could there be a crop mode/ setting on my camera that is contributing to this?
