Hi ferric,

So that we can best assist you, please let us know what version Macintosh is installed on your computer?

We look forward to your reply.

Mac 10.6.8

Hi ferric,

Please go to Apple menu, select System Preferences, click on Print & Fax. Once you are in Print & fax, click the plus sign icon (next to the minus sign) to begin adding a new print queue.

A window will appear listing all printers directly connected to your Mac or available via your network. You should see the your printer listed. If the MX870 is connected wirelessly it will be listed as MX870 Series IJ Network. If the printer is connected via a USB cord it will be listed as MX870 Series USB.

Click once on the MX870 printer to select it. Wait a few seconds while a conversation occurs between your Mac and the printer. Once the conversation is complete, then the printer driver will be selected and listed at the bottom of this window. Once the “Add” button becomes active, click it.

You’ll be taken back to the printer list in Print & Fax. You should see the MX870on this list now and be able to acces the print queue. Close this window by clicking the red dot.

Hi ferric,

Just to confirm, when you go to print, the pages will print but the print queue does not disply while the print job is active. Is that correct?
