I bought A new, never been used Canon Pixma iX6850 from eBay, it was delivered today.

When I set it up and connected it to the computer and wall socket, there was no life, so I tried another cable that I knew worked and another, then I changed the wall sockets again nothing.

Is there a way to test the PSU? If so, what pins do I need to probe to check the voltage?

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Thanks.

Hi Hugh,

Welcome to the community. The ix6850 uses an internal power supply.  The chances of you getting a bad power cord is pretty slim.  I'd test another AC outlet.  If this fails, I packaged the device back up and return it.  Buying from eBay can be risky.

I'd strongly urge you to buy from an authorized Canon dealer.  While, defects or DOA products are possible, the hassle of return usually outweighs any savings.  Canon stands behind every product they sell.  Buying from Canon directly from an authorized dealer is the best way to ensure a satisfying product experience.

If the product you purchased has a US warranty, Canon USA can help you.  You will need to register the product in your MyCanon Account.  A New Printer intended for sale in the United States has a one-year warranty.  Canon will make it right.

Here's a link to get started with support.

Moving forward, I would again suggest buying directly from Canon USA or an authorized dealer for the best possible experience.
