Printer Pixma MG 7720 not recognized after power failure

After a power failure our printer will no longer recognize our computers.  We get an message that our printer is in "error mode".  The printer recognizes the wi-fi but will not connect to the computers.  Canon does not acknowledge the phone number associated with our account to even take a phone call.  Any ideas as to what we need to do the get the computer and printer to communicate would be appreciated.  We have reloaded the drivers.

Hi bee946.

If the printer is not communicating following a power outage, try the following:

  1. Power off both the printer and the router.

  2. Wait 12 seconds.

  3. Power on only the router.

  4. Wait for the router to finish powering on completely.

  5. Power on the printer.

This should allow the router to manage itself and then re-register or reassign the printer, as needed, onto its network list again.

Hi, bee946!  If the phone number picked up by our caller ID system doesn't exactly match the phone number you put down in your registration, it won't recognize you.  We recommend calling from the listed number or editing your registration information to match the number you'll be calling from.  When the numbers match, you should get right through.  Our PIXMA printer support squad is open weekdays from 8 AM to 8 PM ET (5 AM to 5 PM PT).

Hope this helps!
