PIXMA iX6850 Photos printing darker

Hi, so I ran some test prints of my paintings, the colours looked fine on regular paper. I went ahead and printed on canon pixma photo paper and the colours look different - any ideas why this would be happening? They look way more saturated and dark.

Im using a canon pixma ix6850 to print.

Thanks

Glossy paper prints darker and more saturated colors than plain paper, you can fix that by editing the image, adjust the brightness and the color saturation. You may want to calibrate your monitor first.
