PIXMA G3290 printhead stuck in wrong slot

I bought a pixma g3290 printer to replace the HP that i was tired of trying to get fully working. Following the detailed setup instructions (install a printhead) I picked a printhead up and pushed it into the first slot.  It didn't fit well. Looking closer I realized that the printheads were coded and i had put the B head into the C slot.  OK, remove it and put it into the right slot.  Except i can't get it out.  Anyone have a suggestion that won't break something?

Oh no! Accidents happen to the best of us—those setup steps can be tricky when moving quickly. Even without force, a printhead in the wrong slot can sit at an angle that blocks the carriage or latches.

To protect your new printer, please try a quick power cycle:

  1. Turn the printer OFF.

  2. Unplug the power cord for 60 seconds.

  3. Plug it back in and turn it ON.

If it’s still stuck, please do not attempt to pry it out. Physical damage caused by an attempt to modify or repair the unit is not covered under the terms of the limited warranty. Your best next step is to call technical support at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) for safe, professional guidance. Our team is available weekdays from 9am to 6pm (ET), excluding holidays.
