Hello and thanks in advance. Is there a way to do a hard reset on this printer? Not a network reset but a hard reset where all of the data will be wiped of the printer. The reason is is because I've got new cartridges in this computer yet the ink levels are showing nearly empty for both the color and the black cartridges.........like it showed after I used the starter cartridges that came with the printer. I've removed and re installed the cartridges. I've unplugged and plugged back in......nothing changes the ink level readings. I'm concerned if the levels show empty it's going to deactivate my cartridges because the printer thinks they're empty and will not allow me to print. Also, these are Cannon cartridges. Very frustrated and any help would be appreciated.

Hello and thank you once again in advance, esp for the individual that promptly helped we when I asked my first quest, which I should have asked in a different way because it may have been confusing what I'm asking. When the ink level meter on this computer gets low or runs out can you still print with the printer or will the printer automatically stop printing? I know for a fact these new cartridges have plenty of ink in them but the ink level counter is not picking them up as full, the counter is picking them up prob about 1/4 full. I've tried the reset recommended in the manual, along with various other things online, but have not found a way to deal with this with this specific printer. Is there a way to disable the ink counter so that I won't have to worry about this going forward. I really don't feel like returning the printer even though it still is under warranty. Thanks in advance

Hi Swilson3828! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that your PIXMA TS3522 is not reporting the correct ink levels and you are wondering if you can bypass the error so you can continue printing.
If the cartridge levels show that the ink is out, your computer may show either a 1686 or a 1688 error. At the printer, the display will be flashing the E13 or E16 codes. When you see either one of these two error codes blinking on the printer’s display, you can bypass the error by holding down the STOP button for five seconds.
The Stop button has a symbol that looks like a triangle inside a circle. You can refer to the following article and sections of the manual for more information:

https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/ErrorCode/TS3500%20series/EN/ERR/1686.html?ref=1686
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/ErrorCode/TS3500%20series/EN/ERR/1688.html?ref=1688
If the printer’s display is flashing a different error, please refer to the following section of the manual:
I hope this information helps. Thanks again.
