Somehow the Camera Connect app will no longer recognize my Cannon ID to sign in. Before this failure happened, no matter how many times the app recognized the camera wirelessly, it never could connect. Online videos seem to show a newer T7 than what I have. None of my screens look like what they show. Could use some help. Worse using the cable provided is no help with a MacBook.

I have similar issues (worked fine for a month or two). Now it gives error when opening the app and trying to sign in... tried deleting the app, clearing the settings, nothing seems to work now I can't access my pictures easily

Hi Deirdre726,
I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the Canon Camera Connect app. One thing to check with your Canon ID log in would be to try logging into your account on our website HERE. The website login is the same as the login in the Canon Camera Connect app. If the log in isn't working on the website either we would recommend using the Forgot Password to set a new one. Once you've done that try logging into the website and the Canon Camera Connect app again to see if the same thing happens.
If you continue having log in issues at that point we would recommend calling the phone support team at 1-800-652-2666 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time Monday through Friday. We do not recommend account or personal information on the forums, so in that case to trouble shoot your account we would recommend calling phone support team. You will not be able to use the Canon Camera Connect app until you are able to successfully log in to it.
Once you are able to log into Canon Camera Connect try these steps to re-establish the connection:
1) First the current version of the Canon Camera Connect App should be installed on the phone. Once installed don't open it or have it running in the background, we just need it installed at this point.
2) On the camera press the menu button and go to the third yellow wrench tab and select Wi-Fi Function.
3) Next choose Connect to Smartphone.
4) Now select Easy Connection and hit okay. Now the camera should be showing an SSID and an Encryption Key. Leave that screen on the camera.
5) On your smartphone pull up nearby wifi networks, you'll see one that matches the SSID listed on the camera. Select that and when it asks for a password enter the Encryption Key listed on the back of the camera.
6) Once the phone is on the network open the Canon Camera Connect app. Once the app is open in the top left will be a camera icon with a plus sign. Touch that icon, select your camera model, choose Wi-Fi Connection, put a check mark next to “Camera is now ready to connect”, and touch Next. On the next screen the app will detect the camera and show a pop up showing it detected the camera.
7) In the prompt select the name of the camera and now on the back of the camera it will ask if you want to connect to the smart phone. Select Okay and the connection will be established.
For connecting your EOS Rebel T7 to your computer you would use different software. Also when you use the USB to connect to a computer you need to make sure to turn off the wifi on the camera. When wifi is enabled on the EOS Rebel T7 it disables the cable ports. To turn off the wifi on the camera press the Menu button, go to the third yellow wrench tab, and Disable Wi-Fi/NFC.
Once you've disabled the wifi on the camera open the EOS Utility on your computer and you will see a black window that has a camera and computer icon it. When you see that window connect the camera and computer with a USB cable and once the EOS Utility detects the camera it will automatically refresh to give you the import options.
If you need to download the EOS Utility for your computer it is available HERE. Once you are on the web page click on the Drivers & Downloads button and the current version is EOS Utility 3.19.0.
