I have an SX720HS (yes I know it's 10 years old) that I hadn't upload to my icloud storage for a couple of weeks, so I fired up camera connect on my iPhone. After the app updated, it no longer would connect to my camera. After several frustrating hours I started the app on my iPad, again it updated, but this time connection was established and everything worked as it always had..
As far as I can tell it's the same CanonID log in information for both, however the iPad lists my camera as registered but the iPhone wants me to register a new phone. I've tried, but it doesn't do anything. I've also deleted and reloaded the app several times.
I've used both camera access and my home wifi to connect. Both work on my iPad, neither on my iPhone.
Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums!
Sorry to hear about your phone issues. Have tried deleting the current camera connection definition on your phone, and creating a new one? You might even have to delete and reinstall from the Apple App Store. The independent software update may have disabled the app from accessing hardware resources.
