Hi everyone,
I recently noticed an issue that I don't really understand.
After the motherboard (main board) on my Canon R7 was repaired, Wi-Fi transfer stopped working. Apparently, it needs to be enabled again at a Canon service center, but there isn't one in my country, so the camera has to be sent either to Estonia or Finland.
At first, I tested it on iOS, but it didn't work and showed something like “connected to another network.” Connecting via cable didn't work either.
And then the most interesting thing happened: on Android, everything actually worked - even when there was no Mac port. After some testing, it started working normally.
So I'd like to ask: What's the deal with it working on Android but not iOS?photo_2026-08-20_16-14-28.jpg

Greetings MrToastmMan,
The reason your EOS R7 camera connects to an Android device but fails on iOS may be due to how Apple and Android handle Wi-Fi handshakes and local device permissions differently.
When a camera's motherboard is replaced, its network identity changes. iOS caches previous Wi-Fi network profiles and it has strict security protocols. When iOS attempts to connect to the camera, it sees a mismatch with the saved network identity and throws errors like "connected to another network," whereas Android may be more flexible with updating local network certificates.
We recommend on going to the Wi-Fi settings on the mobile device and removing the saved profile of the camera. I would suggest on doing the same for the Bluetooth profile if the camera's Bluetooth function was used to pair to the mobile device. Afterwards, you may proceed with setting up a new connection between the camera and the iOS mobile device.
